Neurology Associates of Santa BarbaraNeurology Associates of Santa Barbara

Patient Information

Fees, Billing, and Insurance

Please be aware, Neurology Associates is not contracted with most insurance companies. The following is a list of those we are contracted with:

Medicare
Tricare
SB Cottage Hospital Employee Health
SB Select IPA
CenCal Health

For those insurances we are not contracted with, we will expect payment in full at the time of your visit, with the exception of tests and injections. We will file a claim to your insurance company as a courtesy, irrespective of whether we have a contract with your carrier, and request that they reimburse you directly.

Our fees are comparable to similar charges for high-quality neurologic care in Southern California. We genuinely share your concerns about the high cost of medical care. In establishing our charges for each patient visit, we consider not only the time spent directly with you, but also additional time needed to review records, labs and other tests. Supplemental charges may be made for complex phone calls, completion of forms or generation of letters outside the scope of general medical practice. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our charges, please free to discuss these with our office manager 805.563.8375.

Payment Types Accepted:

Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or Discover.

Financial Policy:

A finance charge of 18% per annum is calculated on amounts due from the patient after 60 days. We will try to work with you and if necessary will set up a payment plan. Should you default on payment of your account, the account will be sent to a collection agency and you will be charged $25 to cover collection fees.

Open Payments Database:

For informational purposes only, a link to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Open Payments web page is provided here.
